Dark Chocolate Covered Powerberries
A fruit snack for adults! "Powerberries" are a tart/sweet fruit center coated with a hard dark chocolate shell. The fruit filling is a blend of acai, pomegranate, blueberry, cranberry, and elderberry, and the inclusion of so many tart berries really keeps the sweetness of these fruit snacks in check. The dark chocolate is hard, not melty, so these seem like they would be a great on-the-go snack. They are gluten-free, low in sodium, and they contain flavanol antioxidants. If you have to satisfy a chocolate craving, these seem like a (slightly) healthier way to do it! Each 1/4-cup serving has 180 calories, 7 grams of fat, 25 grams of sugar, and 20% of your daily recommended vitamin C. An 8-ounce bag contains about 6 servings, and sells at my local store (Annapolis MD) for $3.49.

I love these! My local TJs has been out of stock for a while, so I've been checking every time I go in (about 2-3 times/week). They better not discontinue these or I will cry!

Powerberries are awesome, the first time I had one I didn't know what they were and I was puzzled thinking, what kind of fruit is this? It's just so good, but I cant put my finger on it. It turns out they're a blend of several fruits (acai, pomegranate, blueberry, cranberry, and elderberry) resulting in a delicious combo.

These things are dangerous...before you know it, the bag is empty.

These are just okay to me. The little juice pellets/discs inside the chocolate is pretty small. Reminds me a bit of the "jelly-like" or gummy candies (which is hard to find through all of the chocolate. I don't think these are too healthy after all the refining of the power berries until all that is left is reconstituted juice, but it does have a nice tart and tangy flavor over those overly sweet gummy interiors of some other chocolate covered candies with no corn syrup and gelatin either. so that is a good thing. I don't think I would get them again though as I am not a real fan of this type of texture. I prefer an dried berry coated in dark chocolate.
